Within this blog i will be talking about effective presentations. I will be going over many ways one can improver there presentation skills, along wilt that i will give a number of tips that can help someone make a presentation when they are a nervous public speaker.

A grate was to start any presentation, is to KNOW YOUR STUFF. If you go out there to a crowded room of spectators, that expecting a presentation on a subject. For example let’s say bass guitar? You first would have to know at least how to play a small bit of music on it or your crowded will just turn on u.

Here are 4 steps to effective presentations

1Step : Determine Your Style

The style of your presentation or speech should match several things, most importantly, your personality and your topic.
Step 2: Use Humor
Humor is one of the most powerful tools at your disposal.

Step 3: Determine Your Core Information

There must be meat, substance, to your presentation.

Step 4: Know Your Surroundings Well
No matter where you will be giving your presentation or speech, it’s vital that you have an understanding of the space that you will be presenting in.

Thank you for taking time to read my blog ;) see you agen next time

Effective Note Taking

For one to have a affective college carrier, they must be able to effectively take class notes. This can help you most importantly when it comes to the weeks before your class test, or even the big cram the night before.the top five tips that i have fould for effective note-taking is.

1. Go to class prepared.

"Always have a plan and believe in it. Nothing good happens by accident." -- Chuck Knox, NFL football coach

2. Improve your listening skills.

"Learn how to listen and you will prosper even from those who talk badly." -- Plutarch (A.D. 46 - 120).

3. Develop a notetaking method that works for you.

"Learn, compare, collect the facts." - Ivan Petrovic Pavlov (1849 - 1936),

4. Play close attention to content.

"There is a great difference between knowing a thing and understanding it." - Charles Kettering (1876 - 1958),

5. Review and edit your notes.

"Ideas won't keep; something must be done about them." - Alfred North Whitehead (1861 - 1947),

This is a good video that I have looked at in college and I believe that the tips that it involves is very helpful.

One key think I would like to finish this off with it, that if one takes too many notes it can all just look like a big mess. But if you only take down key points, or even built points. Your grads will hopefully in prove and you will suffer less for test anxiety.

So thank you for raeding and best of luck in your note taking.

Plagiarism

Within this blog i will be talking about plagiarism. I will be discussing what it is? What can happen to you if you do? And ways around avoiding it happening to you.

what is it?

To avoid plagiarism, you must give credit whenever you use, some one else’s work. Such as in the body of your essay or in any other academic work you are partaking in.

What can happen to you if you do plagiarise your work?

Many colleges have many different policies , such as in my own college itb.
1. Plagiarism is a serious academic offence that must be avoided by all students
2. Students found to commit plagiarism are subject to Institute disciplinary
procedures
3.Where there is evidence to suggest plagiarism in examinations, a formal process of
enquiry will be initiated by the Course Tutor

What it’s the best way to not plagiarise?

The best way for one not to plagiarise some ones work, is to give credit to where credit is due. One can do this by referencing or citing someone. By doing this you should have no problems in your future essays or whatever college work one must referents in.

So until next time thank you for reading.

Harvard Referencing

While in college many are new to the world of academic righting. Whit this there is a key component of college witch is Harvard referencing. Too many new first year students like myself this was a strange new and scary thing to partake in. But with the help of my lectors and many good points i have picked up along the way i think that i am coming to terms with the whole thing.

What is referencing?
-It gives credit to the original author of the information
-It allows readers to follow up on the sources of information in the text
-It allows lecturers to ensure the accuracy of the sources in the text

Collecting all the details: Accurate referencing

For books, record:
  • The author’s or editor’s name (or names)
  • The year the book was published
  • The title of the book
  • If it is an edition other than the first
  • The city the book was published in
  • The name of the publisher
For journal articles record:
  • The author’s name or names
  • The year in which the journal was published
  • The title of the article
  • The title of the journal
  • The page number/s of the article in the journal
  • As much other information as you can find about the journal, for example the volume and issue numbers
For electronic resources, try to collect the information on the left if it is available, but also record:
  • The date you accessed the source
  • The electronic address or email
  • The type of electronic resource (email, discussion forum, WWW page, etc)
